Next up!

One of these days I'm going to learn to set my weekend task list at a more reasonable level.

No, really.

There are several major items without tick marks (or even smudge marks) on this weekend's list, but I DID get the new linocut plate ready to go. Yippee! Yes, it's oak leaves and sticks. Yes, it's further evidence of insanity on the part of the printmaker. But you're going to follow along, aren't you? Even if you watch it the same way I watch horror films: with my hands over my ears and my eyes closed. Tell me when it's safe to look again....

  3. I can't decide if the maniacal laughter I am hearing is coming from ME, or from the lino-gods. :-) Glad you're along for the ride, Jens!

  5. I love oak leaves and I recognize a couple of different species in there. Can't wait to see the layers come together on this one!

  6. Oh my goodness! Wonderful.

I'd love to know how you work out the different states/stages of your cut, Sherrie even though I am already destroying brain cells trying to think about it :)

  7. Well, Robyn... If I actually DID work things out ahead of time, that would be helpful. But I don't! I have an image I think will be nice... I put it on the plate and then I say, "Okay. Anybody want to remain the paper color?" I carve those areas, decide what color I want to print, print it... and then say, "Okay. Anybody want to be the color I just printed?"

That's pretty much the way it goes!
