Yeah, baby

Looky what I got today.

It was a bit of a splurge, about which I've been feeling a trifle guilty. But yesterday I took work over to the Maverick Potter Gallery and today, before I even had price tags up, a linocut sold. More than covered the cost of this groovy Takach brayer.

The universe supporting my decision? Uh huh. That's my story, and I'm stickin' with it.

It's going to be a grand weekend for the arts in Salida once again. Riverside Arts Festival is going on in Riverside Park, and our usual Second Saturday art shindigs will be going on around town. We'll be celebrating less than a block from the Festival at the Maverick Potter, 123 N. F Street, from 3-6pm this Saturday, August 14. Pottery by Mark Rittman, turned wood objects by Ed Berg, and linocuts by yours truly.

And I can't forget to mention that David (aka the Darling Man) will be tapping out tunes on Chapman Stick on Saturday at noon during the Festival. Come on down! It's going to be great fun.

  2. What a wicked girl you are! ;) But I can see why you just had to have it.

A wonderful thing happened to me today also, Sherrie, I opened my mail and found your beautiful swallow tail butterfly print. I've already bought a frame. I'm planning to float it since I can't buy mat board here. I can't stop looking at it. Can't believe I have a SY reduction linocut print! It should happen to more people! THANK YOU.

  3. Gotta love the universe knows all thing.
And like Robyn I also love my little piece of Lino cut. It looks so good hanging in my dinning room.

  5. Hey! We're missing a wheel from one of the library book carts ...

  6. Scott... ain't it the truth! This is the sort of tool that says I take myself and my work seriously... and it's about darn time!

Robyn! Glad the butterfly landed safely... it's nice to think of it there with you... and one with Toni, too...

Brayer envy... as well you should, Wendy. It's only 4" wide, but has a roll-out length of almost 8". And it's a tricep workout, too?

Jeff, I knew our library was blessed with a decent budget, but if this is the way book carts are outfitted I can see that we've got the whole patron thing backwards.
