A whiter shade of pale


Or something like that.

The first pale colors of a new reduction print are often difficult for me to mix. Nothing to judge against... is this too light or too dark? Won't know until the next color goes down. I hope I got it right!

  1. I just love your blog... your block prints are amazing! Very inspirational. I just started doing linocuts last year (then started doing reduction woodcuts a few months ago)- I hope someday my work comes close to the beauty of yours!

  2. Thanks, Jen! (both for stopping by and for taking the time to leave a such a nice comment!) I'm impressed that you're tackling woodcut already... I have the bug myself, but haven't made the leap just yet. Sort of pacing at the edge of the cliff, if you know what I mean!

  3. I think that subtle for the first colour creates a lovely solid foundation for the rest of the print. Sometimes means you end up with a few more colours than originally intended.... :)
